The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
